Handmade in England from an extra-heavy upholstery grade velvet cord, his cotton and viscose cloth is both durable and extremely soft. Like all cord velvets, Nicholas is crafted using a centuries-old technique that blends precision weaving with artisanal finishing. It begins with a base of finely woven cotton and viscose threads, chosen for their durability and natural lustre. Into this base an extra layer of plush pile yarns is added, woven into parallel lines to create the signature corded texture.

Unlike traditional velvet, which offers a smooth and even surface, cord velvet is distinguished by its sculpted ribs—a design that enhances both its visual depth and tactile appeal. These delicate ridges are formed through a specialized cutting and brushing process, ensuring a flawless, velvety finish with a refined, structured look.

Nicholas is self-piped tone-on-tone, and finished with a 100% heavy weight duck feather cushion pad, also handmade in England. His concealed YKK zip enclosure also allows for the cover to be removed for easy cleaning.
